It is with immense sadness that Locum Productions announces the tragic murder of Simon Cumbers while on assignment with BBC News in Saudi Arabia on 6^th June 2004.  Simon was working with BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner in a suburb of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, when they were fired upon by gunmen.  Simon died at the scene and Frank was critically wounded.  Simon's wife, Louise, and his family invite colleagues and friends to leave their messages of condolence for Simon and their wishes for Frank's speedy recovery on this page.
